Our Firm

Matheson Financial Partners is a fee-only financial planning and wealth management firm specializing in helping sales professionals accumulate and preserve their wealth. Beginning with helping our clients define and prioritize goals, we then create a strategic plan to maximize the opportunities of their variable/bonus comp, or equity compensation plans. As a fiduciary, we manage investments and help clients plan for major life events such as college or retirement while incorporating tax mitigation and estate planning guidance into our planning considerations. Located in Sacramento, CA we serve our clients locally and virtually nationwide.

Leading our independent firm is Tony Matheson, CFP® - who has spent decades relating to clients who discover that the treadmill of hitting their sales goals has taken precedence over managing what they’ve earned.

How We’re Different

We are experts in financial planning, specialized in partnering with sales professionals.

We’re upfront about our fees, processes and other information you need to know throughout our engagement.

We Leave the Selling to You

As a fee-only firm, we are compensated exclusively by the transparent fee paid to us by you, our client. There is NO sales pitch, NO commissions, & NO products sold

Knowing Each Other

Let's Get Acquainted

Who We Work With

As a sales professional, you focus on what matters in your work, setting goals and achieving them. While doing this successfully, your own personal to-do list can get long and overwhelming in contrast, and the thought of setting aside time to organize your own finances can fall to the bottom of the priority list. That’s not good if you want to plan for the future.

Examples of sales professionals we’ve helped:

  • Software and IT
  • Sales Trainers
  • Real Estate
  • Medical Device Reps
  • Pharmaceutical Reps
  • Consultants
  • Fitness Industry
  • Finance
  • Fashion
  • Marketing and Advertising

Consider these questions:

  • Do you find yourself focused on hitting sales goals or achieving earnings goals at the expense of organizing your own financial planning needs?
  • Do you struggle to manage your variable compensation and RSUs in a consistent and confident manner that supports a long-term strategy for your life and finances?
  • Are important materials like estate documents located safely in one place and updated?

If you answered “yes” to any of these, Matheson Financial Partners is here to help. With more than two decades of experience, we understand how spending time on areas outside your sales work often gets neglected, including wealth management. We’re here to fill in the gap for you. From tax efficient investment strategies to college planning, Matheson Financial Partners is ready to help you manage your financial future.

Experienced and Ready to Serve You

Tony Matheson, CFP®
